Our History
The restaurant is run directly by the owners with great care and attention, guaranteeing genuine, high quality ingredients and cuisine. Among the most representative dishes on the menu are Porcini mushrooms and the famous “Pappardelle al Cinghiale” (wide tagliatelli pasta with wild boar sauce), that is a speciality of the town and has given its name to the now ten-year old local town festival. Also characteristic is the pizzeria with its wood-burning oven, and the fantastic antipasti that you can eat in the evenings. In the hot summer evenings you can eat outside, also with the possibility of pool-side receptions. Welcome!
The Territory
Torre Alfina
Is situated in the northern tip of Lazio, in the strip of land between Tuscany and Umbria. The Hotel-Restaurant “NUOVO CASTELLO” is located at the foot of the delightful medieval town and offers its guests all modern conveniences and comforts to guarantee them a relaxing and enjoyable stay.  Rooms are fitted with balcony, air-conditioning, TV and telephone, that, along with the swimming-pool guarantee a peaceful and enjoyable holiday. Guided excursions either on foot or on mountain bike allow visitors to see the wild, still unspoilt nature of the area. The town is close to the major artistic and historical sites of northern Lazio and is near to both Umbria and Tuscany where guests can visit important, historical cities of art.

The Town
Torre Alfina is situated high upon a hill that dominates the vast high plain that then gently slopes down into the Orvieto valley. Behind it there is a wood that drops dramatically down into the wide expanse of the river Paglia, which then flows into the Tevere. The stone houses of the medieval town wind around the feet of the tall castle, built in dark stone, with its severe, square towers, save one, on the left-hand side, that is rounded and that lends a note of delicate harmony to the building as a whole. Here we are in the heart of Etruria – a land of legend, of wars and of love. This is a place which holds a particular charm, for its surroundings, for the good humour of its inhabitants and the calm and tranquility of its quiet streets. Here you can find serenity and escape.

The Flower Museum
The Flower Museum  is situated in the Monte Ruffeno Nature Reserve, only 2 km from Torre Alfina. It is surrounded by oaks, beeches and pine trees, and is certainly worth a visit, not only for tourists but also for students of natural science.
